Brais Álvarez Pereira is joining ULA in January 2020. With a MSc in Economics from the LSE and a PhD from the European University Institute, he is specialized in experimental and development economics. His work has been published by Regional Studies, Computational Economics, the Review of Development Economics and the IMF.
Brais has a rich experience working in West-Africa, where he directs the Bissau Economics Lab (BELAB), a small research center based in Guinea-Bissau. Here, he is currently the Principal Investigator for a field RCT with 2.000 families, financed by two competitive grants and suported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
