Reconnecting with nature: From Nudges to Multisensory Behavioral Interventions
Asistencia presencial: Aula E1-1-01, Campus de Córdoba (Calle Escritor Aguayo, 4).
Abstract: This talk presents two pilot studies that examine whether multisensory experiences can help activate pro-environmental attitudes and behaviors. The studies build on the premise that many environmental problems are perceived as distant and abstract, limiting the effectiveness of conventional behavioral interventions based primarily on information, nudges, or incentives. By incorporating sensory and affective engagement, these pilots explore alternative pathways for fostering a stronger connection with biodiversity. The talk will present the rationale behind these interventions, reflect on their preliminary findings, and invite discussion on the conceptual and methodological challenges involved in evaluating multisensory experiences within a behavioral science framework.
